Students will work on a variety of studio-based assignments in this studio, including an analysis of architectural spaces and construction through precedent studies and an investigation of form and space through architectural conceptualization. Students will then create a modest freestanding structure that relates to the site setting and satisfies user needs.

Throughout the semester, three assignments provided a comprehensive learning experience. In Assignment 1, exploring a jungle frame home deepened my understanding and inspired my design concepts. Collaborative work was beneficial, aiding in diverse insights and efficient time management. Improvement could be made in presentation preparation. Assignment 2 involved leveraging knowledge from Project 1 to design a structure by a river, exploring spatial characteristics and framing. Suggested enhancements include better drawing coordination and improved narration. Assignment 3 combined learnings from Projects 1 and 2, emphasizing challenges in form and design principles. The process, from workshop submissions to rapid model creation, offered lasting lessons about nature, contextual integration, and user-centric design. Looking forward to the next studio, I anticipate a similarly enriching experience.
