Project 1

To comprehend the various conditions that create the distinctive place identity and socio-cultural connotations of the traditional streets, visit the street we have selected. A sketch journal and a written summary are used to record observations.

Project 2

Poster and Seminar-Contemporary Issues in Asian Architecture

We were expected to perform critical analyses of the key problems they identified during their site tour. The results of the learning process are given as a proposal of viable solutions in the form of a research poster and a seminar presentation.

Reflection

Assignments 1 and 2 enriched my learning experience. Assignment 1 deepened my understanding of the subject, enhancing my observational and urban sketching skills. It also fostered cultural awareness in Jalan Tun HS Lee. While improvements could be made in site visits and tutorial time utilization, I acknowledge the potential for more profound intangible context through interaction with people. Assignment 2 emphasized group communication skills and offered a global perspective on preserving traditional architectures. Starting progress late led to missed tutorials, a significant regret. Recognizing the importance of terminology, I aim to deepen my literature understanding for better application in future projects.
